The healing power in nature
Sitting in front of the computer I am prompted to write about Nature. How can we bring more green life into our working and waking hours? And how is this emotionally and even physically healing?
Take a moment to notice something around you that is growing. It could be a plant, a tree outside your window, or even the picture above this text. What do you notice and how does it feel? Use your senses to help you reach inside the life of the greenery. Imagine how it would feel to touch a leaf, or smell the fragrance of a flower. Think about a place in nature, real or imagined, that you find soothing. What would you want to have around you in this place?
Even if you had a difficult childhood, you may have memories of a garden, park, or front/back yard that was a refuge in hard times. If you lived near the ocean or a lake, the sound and feel of the water may be healing music. Picnics, outdoor concerts, sitting on grass lawns, taking a nap on a blanket under a tree–these are experiences and memories to hold close.
Remember to have a green moment during your day.
